Deborah GoldsteinGoldie’s Table Matters is the brainchild of Deborah Goldstein, a seasoned restaurateur and host. Deborah has been practicing and sharpening her skills in restaurant voyeurism for decades.

Fascinated by fine dining and hospitality since the tender age of 10, Deborah remains a student of restaurant philosophy and psychology. While interning at the Hotel Fontana in Twann, Switzerland, she studied the nuance and expertise possible in professional service. Supplementing her 25 year study in wine she participated in Harvest 2001 at Ponzi Vineyards in Beaverton, Oregon. Deborah travels worldwide with award-winning restaurants and vineyards as her destination.

Shortly after graduating from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, Deborah opened the still beloved, New York Times acclaimed, Goldie’s by the Bridge in Sleepy Hollow, NY in 1991. A restaurant ahead of its time, Goldie’s offered Fresh Market Cuisine™. A progressive wine list as well as monthly wine dinners positioned the charming restaurant as a destination for wine education and a menu that changed with the seasons.

In 1998 Deborah realized that in order to create balance in her life, Goldie’s couldn’t be a component. Goldie’s closed it’s doors, allowing Deborah to devote her energy to a life consisting of work she loved and a commitment to authentic personal development. As we all know, the restaurant business is a 24/7 job!

Deborah subsequently sold wine for Martin Scott Wines and consulted for restaurants in New York and California. While working at three star New York City restaurants, “Goldie” realized that many business meals were not yielding the desired results. She thought, “I can sense when a deal is sealed or soured due to behavior at the dinner table,” and that epiphany is how Goldie’s Table Matters was born.

She was the original Dining and Entertainment Expert at LearnVest, the website devoted to empowering women to take control of their personal finances so that they can afford to live their richest lives.

Through Deborah’s work with GTM, she saw a great need for leadership development from a female perspective. She’d also pledged to help people build strong, organic networks across industry lines. DRIVEN Professionals, a second business line, launched in May 2013 and provides an opportunity for companies to outsource or bolster an in house women’s initiative. This unique community has been created to help NYC professionals better integrate work, life, and personal development.

Deborah splits her time between NYC and Putnam Valley, NY. She enjoys her morning march and cooking for loved ones. She thrives in the stillness of her ‘country home’ as well as the fast pace of NYC life. Although balance is not a constant, for the most part, Deborah is blessed to manage a balanced life.
